I have been doing weddings for 38 years and it is a real privilege to share this special day with couples.
As a registered religious celebrant, I have to use set vows. These cannot changed, but couples can certainly add to the vows.
I charge $400 and that includes venues within a 100 km radius of Brisbane City. (Extra charge may apply if the venue is further away.)

Planning Your Wedding
Date
The legal date when you can get married is one month after you sign the Notice of Intended Marriage form (NOIM). Your signatures need to be wintnessed by either me as the celebrant or another celebrant or a JP or a Police Officer or a Clerk of the Court. Once I receive the signed NOIM as the celebrant, then you can get married one month after that but not more than 18 months later.
ID
You will need to provide a complete birth certificate along with photo ID (Drivers License or Passport). If you don’t have a birth certificate (extracts cannot be used) you can order one here.
Official Marriage Certificate
The Certificate of Marriage that you sign at the wedding ceremony cannot be used for changing names on bank accounts etc. An official certificate can be obtained from Qld Births Deaths and Marriages (BDM). However, because you have to provide ID, I can order an official certificate when I lodge the marriage details online. When the marriage is registered by BDM, they will then send you an email requesting payment. Follow the instructions and within a week you will recieve your official certificate.
Other Forms required
From the details you provide on the NOIM, I generate the no legal impediment to marriage form, then three Marriage Certificate forms:
1. To BDM
2. Marriage Register book
3. One that you keep
Witnesses
At the wedding you will need two witnesses who are over 18 years old. They will witness all the forms signed on the wedding day. As the Marriage Certificate that you keep is not a legal document, you might have everyone at the wedding sign the back of it!
